RURAL MIGRATION.
migration I know started since time memorial. It has been one-way traffic since then, that’s Rural-Urban migration.
Rural-to-urban migration is when people move, either temporarily or permanently, from a rural area to an urban city. People living in rural areas are more likely to migrate than those living in urban cities.
But After some time, overpopulated countries have started Rural – Urban Migration. Ruralization is the process by which people migrate from urban centers to rural communities, the opposite of urbanization. People have moved from urban cities to rural communities for various reasons, including job opportunities and simpler lifestyles. And also running away from the hues and chaos in the city centers.
So many a times authorities have found reasons and disadvantages of urbanization, to deter citizens from the drift, but ants cannot stay away from sugar and honey.
Some of these disadvantages of urbanization are.
* Housing and accommodation problems.
* Overcrowding.
* Unemployment.
* Development of Slums.
* Water and Sanitation Problems.
* Poor Health and Spread of Diseases.
* Traffic Congestion.
* Urban Crime.

Now countries are incentivizing their citizens to go back to the rural areas. Some of these countries are Japan, Hong kong, China etc.
These countries are paying citizens to relocate to the rural areas.
Decades of migration have hollowed out Japan’s rural areas as young people move to major cities. Meanwhile, Tokyo’s population has swollen to over 35 million. The city already offers a 300,000 yen ($2,280) relocation payment per child.
From April 2023, it’s increasing that to 1 million yen ($7,600) per child.
So a family of 4 could gain 5 million yen ($37,900) a year in total benefits. The main motive of this movement is to develop smaller towns and villages and reduce pressure on the Japan’s biggest city.
Gradually this phenomena is becoming widespread to other countries whose city population are sky rocketing. Some of these countries are Switzerland, Australia, Italy, Spain, Portugal, and Ireland, as well as a number of US states, have all developed incentives to lure potential residents away from the big cities.

The advantages of Ruralization are:
1. Population in the city centers will reduce.
2. Development will move to the rural areas.
3. Agriculture will increase.
4. Urban pollution will reduce drastically.
5. There will be an increase in raw material
6. Increase in income of rural dwellers.
Big cities should adopt what Japan and other countries are doing. To ease the pressure on the booming urbanization.
